The distance between Mahé Island in the southeastern direction and Victoria is 10km and it takes like around 20minutes to and from the Airport. There is however some public means available like taxis and coach services.
Reaching there using water transport.
Passenger transportation may not be available but the cargo and drive ships are available at Mahe.

Internal Travel:
Getting Around by Water
Personal schooners offer regular inter-island links between Mahé, Praslin and La Digue. Boats can be chartered individually to get to the other islands. Cat Cocos (website: www.catcocos.com) is a new service providing fast crossings between Mahé and Praslin.
One can always hire a taxi to any destination because there are around 300 taxis operated interpedently and with rates controlled by the government.
You can as well hire a car from Mahe to any destination.
Driving rules: You should not drink and drive; you should limit your speed. it should like 65kph and then you go on decreasing on open roads.
Certification: Your national driving permit is adequate for in about three months.
