Seychelles to revitalise its tourism branding
Thursday, September 9th, 2010James Michel, the president of Seychelles encouraged the tourism sector of Seychelles to work hand in hand with the government to set up new strategies that will develop the country’s tourism and still endorse the Seychelles brand in the tourism industry. The conference about the tourism industry of Seychelles took place at Domaine de Val des pres where so many ideas were shared.
In the president’s speech, he further said that people should participant in the tourism sector because it will the country to great development. He said that its another way of providing employment to the people through hotel services and the sale of local products to the
tourism industry. He looked at this idea of Seychelles Brand as something that would promote tourism and develop the country at large.
The physical beauty of Seychelles has the capacity to attract a great number of tourists. The gorgeous islands, the history, art and culture of Seychelles have made the country achieve its civilization thus promoting tourism. Michel’s meeting was to ensure that Seychelles gets an
identity of a hospitable country and politically stable.
The tourists that have visited the country bear me witness that the people of Seychelles are hospitable and provide great services. The beauty of the country has been a major factor and has drawn many visitors thus enabling people to become key stakeholders in the tourism sector.
The president called upon Seychelles Tourism Board and the Licensing Authority to handle Seychelles tourism sector in Future. He said that some tourists attractions such as the historical sites,Anse Royale Beach park and Domaine de Val des Pres will be under STB management to all
students from the tourism faculty take on their lessons and training.
The government of Seychelles come up with a body that will protect as well as manage the historical, cultural and environmental sites and also to ensure that they are well conserved and protected.The president noted an increase in the number of visitors compared to last year and for this year, the best months have been May June and July. The Seychelles Island is one destination to visit.
